Shikha went from being someone who hated cooking to winning MasterChef Rajasthan 2019, placing 1st in Jaipur, 3rd in Rajasthan, and founded Cakes n Flakes, where she creates custom cakes, chocolates, and hampers, and continues her journey of learning as a student of child psychology and parenting. Shikha Baid is a committed Educator, evolving Psychologist, and Home Baker, with a story that is as inspiring as it is delicious. She was born on March 16, 1990 and lives in Jaipur, Rajasthan, with her husband, two children and parents-in-law. Originally starting her career in education and social work, Shikha's path lies with baking, once a pastime she hardly enjoyed.

Now, Shikha is the brilliant mind and hands behind Cakes n Flakes, a baking business based out of her home that has chipped away at countless celebrations across Jaipur with cake, candied lifestyles, and creative hampers. She prepares customized cakes, handmade chocolates, and premium hampers with fresh ingredients and a sprinkle of heart and creativity.

Her official baking journey began in 2019, and that year she also took part in MasterChef Rajasthan, and wowed her way to 1st place in Jaipur and 3rd place in Rajasthan out of 4,500 contestants, while making baking, creativity and cooking a part of her life again. This event did not simply see her publish one recipe: it flipped her entire view of cooking on its head.

Now Shikha continues to learn, her current endeavor is to participate in a child psychology and parenting course that aligns with her long term goal of bringing together education, children, and self-expression!

Shikha has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, which gives her a solid grasp of human behavior and emotional growth. Before diving into entrepreneurship, she spent time as a teacher and social worker, immersing herself in the lives of children, families, and communities. Her experience in teaching has armed her with essential skills like communication, empathy, and organization—traits that now help her run her business, connect with clients, and provide outstanding service. With six years of professional experience in education and social welfare, Shikha remains a passionate advocate for learning, inclusion, and creative self-expression. Whether she’s crafting a themed birthday cake or guiding a child to express themselves through flavors and shapes, Shikha beautifully blends education with baking in ways that truly matter.

Shikha's story began long before all the awards and recognition. With a background and upbringing built on traditional values, she pursued a path into education and social work, where she viewed her fulfillment in helping guide young minds and supporting the community.

After her marriage, life took her into different surroundings, with different responsibilities, and opportunities for self-discovery. Cooking was a chore for her, something that she never intended on dedicating her life to. Time passed and after she had children, she began to experiment with cooking with an openness she had never considered before. After doing some experimenting with cooking, baking caught her attention; something about baking resonated with her creative interests.

In 2019, she made the audacious decision to be a Contestant on MasterChef Rajasthan. What started out as a casual idea quickly transformed itself into a serious intention, with her skills and tenacity quickly moving her to the top positions of that competition, which eventually changed her life.

She never looked back after that, she started Cakes n Flakes and slowly built a loyal customer base. She found herself dedicating so much time and effort reflecting on how to improve, particularly focusing on the quality of ingredients, artistic representation, and personalized service.

At the same time she was also - she decided to return to academia and take a course in child psychology and parenting, as was determined to reconnect with herself as an educator and integrate and work through her interests in child development and creative enterprise.
