Born in Jammu A product of Natrang’s theatre Camp - year 2000, Pawan Verma belongs to Mubarak Mandi, a Heritage of Dogra Rulers in the heart of city, Jammu. Pawan has adopted this cultural race without any family background. But due to his keen interest in culture, he performed at a very tender age of 6, when he was in Ist standard. He played the role of Mahatama Gandhi. He got Ist prize in Drawing & Painting competition for three Consecutive Year 1997, 1998, 1999 in Inter School Drawing & Painting competition. He also got 2nd & 3rd prize in Inter school Debate Competition in 1997 & 1998 organised by DAV society. He got Ist prize in Drawing /Painting & Captation competition from Manoj Chopra sir (Famous Cartoonist) in Inter School Drawing & Painting competition organized by State times & Amar Mahal Musesum. He never moved back and won many prizes and applauses in debates, quiz, drawing and painting competitions.
Pawan brought many times laurels to his school (VIDYA PEETH PUBLIC SCHOOL, JAMMU) & his school committee has awarded him for his continuous participation and prize winning achievements in art and culture. After completed 10+2, Pawan have completed his Engineering (Electrical) from Engineering college.Having experience of more than 21 years in theatre, he has acted in over 80 plays which were performed through-out the country and abroad too. Important among them are Bawa Jitto (Dogri), Mahabhoj (Dogri), Ghumayee (Dogri), Kauva Chala Hans Ki Chaal, Andhon Ka Hathi, Holi, Sher Pehlo Pehal Gayee (Dogri) ,Diary Kusse Loknath di (Dogri), Aap Hamare Hain Kaun, Mere Hisse Ki Dhoop Kahan Hai, Bichoo, Ek Tha Gadha , Gatt (Dogri), Comedy of Terrors, Suno Ek Kahani (Dogri) , Bagia Banchha Ram Ki, Sainyan bhaye kotwal , Kanjoos , Aaj ki Aurat , Gulab Gatha (Dogri) , Kanjoos , Mangu Di Chabeel (Dogri) , Tandav , Kabab Mein Haddi , Mind Games , Hawalat , Manvta da Rishta (Dogri) Dard Apna Apna (Dogri) Adalat Mein Gandhi, Swami Vivekananda etc.He has participated in more than 40 National Theatre Festivals in which major among are :-
Bharat rang Mahotsav, Nandikar international theatre festival, Jash-ne-Bachpan, Vivechana’s National theatre festival, '’Jash-e-Jammu Kashmir'' festival of Dance and Drama at Gawhati (Assam) , 8th Theatre Olympics , Satabdira Kalakara’s N.T.F, Rabindra Rangmandap, Bhubneshwar (Orrisa), National Theatre Festival at Bharat Bhawan,Bhopal, National Theatre Festival by Kerala Sangeet Natak Akademi at St.John’s Auditorium, Tiruvalla in 2003, N.T.F Raja Muthaiah Mandram, Madurai (Tamil Nadu) etc. organized by the prestigious Institutions like Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), National School of Drama, Sangeet Natak Akademi, North Zone Cultural Centre, Indian People Theatre Association (IPTA), Nandikar etc.
Pawan has also the credit to perform in many International Theatre Festivals like “Year Of India In Russia” Festival-2009, Frankfurt International Theatre Festival-2009, 7th International Theatre Festival by RITWIK, Rabindra Sadan, Behrampore etc Which were organized by Indian Council for Cultural Relations and were held in Frankfurt, Belgrade, Yaroslavl, Moscow, Germany etc. & also in international events like Common wealth games ,New Delhi, 2010 , 101th Indian Science Congress in 2013, International Cultural fest in Indian International Centre (IIC) in 2011.
Besides this he has given his voice to numerous Radio plays and commercials. Pawan has also work for DDJammu. He also had strong liasion with legend of our state late Prof. Rita Jatindra with whom he read many plays on the stage the most memorable of which was the biopic of of Bharat ratna Aruna Asif Ali. This Natyapath was huge sucess in MIER College. He has also share a Screen with Prof. Rita Jatindra mam in doordarshan’s Play “Imandari zinda hai” in which she played the role of his mother.
Pawan has gave voice over in many events like chamatkar series organised by Dogri sanstha (A prestigeous Litreary Organisation of Jammu) , Sonnet Sandhiya organised by Kunwar Viyogi Memorial Trust , Dogri Sanstha, Jammu & Dogri Department Jammu university etc. He is a versatile actor and has the capacity to connect to the audiences at the deepest level. Although he has countless plays in Hindi but DOGRI and folk remains his forte. He believes that the only way of respecting your mother tongue is by speaking it and he also wants that today's youth should speak and be proud of their mother tongue.
Pawan also had the credit to perform many times in Raj bhawan in front of Honrable Gov. Sh. S.K Sinha & Sh. N.N Vohara.
