Hailing from the city of Thrissur, the cultural capital of Kerala, I was drawn to classical dance from a very young age. From performing at a neighborhood temple at the age of 5 to becoming 'Kalathilakam' and participating in state youth festivals, childhood passed. Dance was my past, present and future. However, dreams were shattered when an auto-immune disease, Rheumatoid Arthritis, struck me at the age of 22. I was bedridden and broken, physically and emotionally. Gradually, with immense support from my family and almighty's blessings, I stepped on a stage again at the age of 47. Being on that stage with all the eyes on me gave a new perpective. I wanted to prove to myself that I was strong. Now, at 48, I am a proud entrepreneur of a Coffee manufacturing unit. Everyday is a challenge in this male dominated sector, but in overcoming each of them I have started to inspire and love myself more. I lost 25 years of my prime, but I am committed to make every minute of the future count!
