I am an ordinary girl working tirelessly for my extraordinary dream of building a society that is free of social evil. Currently, Founder of Samvaad, an organisation working for various social issues, primarily Menstruation and menstrual hygiene, Eradication of Child sexual abuse, Gender sensitization, along with other social issues. We have impacted 4000+ lives in last 1.5 year through samvaad through 75+ sessions, various major campaigns, events, workshops, etc. I am a passionate social worker working for last five years in the field. I've recently been awarded by UNDP- SDG Action Awards under "Social Upliftment and welfare" category. and "Icons of India" award of honour by Smile Please Foundation and Raunak Events I am also a certified Eradication of Child Sexual Abuse Literacy Trainer and till date have impacted 500+ students through workshops and have trained 10 volunteers to conduct the trainings. I also have a demonstrated history of working as a Menstruation and Menstrual Hygiene Trainer- Project Pankh (have impacted 150+ women, 170+ children and 40+ volunteers of RCCH), Theatre Committee Head (directed and acted in nukkad natak and plays on social issues), Team Coordinator (leading 6 Team leaders and 100+ general body members), Event Head of Dental Camp (for underprivileged kids) and volunteer in various social campaigns for 3 years (2018-2020) with Rotaract Club Chandigarh Himalayan (Dist. 3080). Having a good orientation towards Writing, I'm a poet and Author of 3 Anthologies having my work reflecting my experiences with various social issues. Talking about academics, I've recently completed my Masters in Zoology from Panjab University.

Project Work Pictures

1. Menstruation and Menstrual Hygiene : Till date : Impacted and trained 150+ women, 170+ children and 40+ volunteers of a non profit organisation.

We aware women from marginalised areas about menstruation, sustainable ways of menstruation and burst the myths around it. We also teach them to make cotton pads to help them switch to sustainable menstruating life and to provide themselves the livelihood by selling the cotton pads.

We also aware children (both girls and boys) about hygienic menstrual practices and ways to discard the sanitary pads and try to break the taboo associated with it. Young boys are made familiar with the pubertal changes and sex education.

2. Eradication of Child Sexual Abuse : Till date : Impacted 500+ children from various schools, institutes and societies around tricity. 

In these workshops, kids are made aware of the terms like sexual abuse. They are also taught about how to deal with such situation if you get struck in any unfortunately and how to avoid getting struck in it at the first place, about difference between good secrets and the ones that can harm them, etc.

3. Awareness Sessions : 75+ sessions with changemakers and experts on various social issues : Special emphasis on how an individual can create an impact starting on individual level.

4. Project Disha : Aims to bridge the gap between readers and books. It aims to bring the old and read books into utilisation for youth. Many people has shared their books. Some academic books have also been shared with underprivileged kids.

5. Sapne Bachpan ke : Talk session with slum kids . Kids tell us about their requirements and their dreams and we try to connect them with concerned persons to help them out.

6. Real Life Stories : 25+ changemakers invited on one platform and sharing their experience and insights on how they initiated a change in the society and how it impacted the society.

Samvaad has been working tirelessly trying to create a positive impact on the society by initiating a conversation on social issues and initiating the change to eradicate the social evils.

Fund Raisers : Collaborated with Yearn To Learn India foundation for providing meals to 300+ persons everyday waiting outside the hospitals.

Empathy Circle : Providing a comfortable space to our volunteers for sharing anything they want.. it was started during pandemic to help our volunteers maintain their mental health.
