Dr. Bichitra Rath was born on May 5, 1965, in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. She completed a Master's in Literature from Utkal University, and her education prepared her to a career of creativity and cultural activism and social service.

In 2001, she founded Snigdha Academy, an institution aimed at the all-round growth of children from 3-14 years. The Academy has a variety of activities offered, and they include modern dancing, Odissi dancing, classical singing, yoga, meditation, and different types of arts and crafts, all contributing to the creative growth of children.

In addition to her education, Dr. Rath has also made considerable progress as a Vastu consultant and interior designer, providing a Vastu-based living space and integrating the knowledge and utility that Indian architecture can provide. Her cultural preservation work and social activism are apparent due to her involvement in many calls for action to promote Indian art and culture.
