I hail from the wedding industry, and it has been a progressive joyride for over a decade! I have meticulously designed and styled flowers & decor for over 600 weddings both home city and destination weddings. As curating ideas and creative thinking has been a part for me from when I started, I have established my own venture in Decor Props & Rentals that I call "Atrezzo" which effectively means props in Spanish and hence serves my purpose of vision, its curation of geometric and modern patterned designs with aesthetics being key to my designs.
As I have worked on umpteen projects there are many to mention but to name to a few; Private and social events for Rani Mukerjee, designed and implemented décor for Tabrez Noorani’s Wedding (Hollywood line producer), annual décor planning for Movie success parties and shoots with Yash Raj films, done floral and displays for Chocolatier Zeba Kohli (Fantasie fine chocolates), destination wedding planned and executed for Rohit Dhawan (Bollywood director), Decor and buffet planning with the honchos of the food business Kapco (Copper chimney, Blue Sea and others). Most recently just before the lockdown, worked on an Industrialist's family Wedding in Goa (Piramals) and Armaan Jain's (Rima Jain's Son) wedding functions in Mumbai.
So they say, "Design is thinking made visual" ! This is my profession in a nutshell.
In my professional capacity I have planned luxury destination and home city weddings for eminent Industrial families, digital creators, and celebrities across the world creating a singular incomparable experience for all. Closely worked with 5 star hotels to name a few; Taj hotels, St. Regis, Hyatt, JW Marriot, Four Seasons, Blue Sea.
My key role is curating decor and aesthetically styling different kind of events like baby showers, engagements, cocktails, sangeet, wedding ceremonies, receptions , fashion shows, award functions, movie set designs and many more..understanding my clients mindset to create what they are looking for, maintainting client-venue chemistry for a hassle free outcome, managing a convoy of creators working on a project and taking cruise control from day 1 to the last.
My Prop venture Atrezzo, depicts modern geometric metallic patterns. These can be decorated with flowers or used as is, rented from parties to weddings to events and small celebratory gatherings which is I feel is subsequently the new normal for the industry now and it doesn’t hurt one to rent props that can fit in smaller spaces like homes or club houses and serves the purpose of decor too!
I believe "Ideas build upon Ideas" & hence Curation is the 'key' to establish design.
I have been fortunate to express and enhance my knowledge for so many years and its all been a delightful rollercoaster of experiences.
As for mentions; I have very recently collaborated with Espousal- India's very first Online Expo
Been invited as a Speaker/Instructor to talk and educate on decor designs, curating looks and styling weddings at "Wed Talk Live" which is a community for wedding experts and curators to impart the best of their knowledge and experiences of being in the Industry. This falls under the 'Lovegevity University', New york which is a wedding Planning Institute affiliated with the most talented International wedding decor designer- 'Preston Bailey'.
After diligently working and contributing to the wedding business I've come to realise that having been around the best and still holding onto my ground has been my greatest achievement & enlightenment !
