Dr Anju Beniwal has PhD in Sociology and Masters in Anthropology and Sociology. Presently, serving as Assistant Professor of Sociology at Govt. Meera Girls College, Udaipur, Rajasthan - India. Her area of interest is Leisure Studies, Women issues and Tribal studies. She has eleven books and more than fifty publications to her credit. She has been an active member of the editorial/advisory/referee board of various International Journals and presented her views in more than fifty-five conferences, both the country as well as abroad (Hungary, Japan, Vienna and Canada). She has been the Board Member of RC13 of the ISA and editor of "Global Leisure and the Struggle for a Better World" and Positive Sociology of Leisure Contemporary Perspectives, Palgrave Macmillan, Springer Nature Switzerland. She is a reviewer and an Associate Editor of the International Journal of the Sociology of Leisure (IJSL). She has contributed to several social activities carried out at the Regional and National Level.
She is a vibrant member of various learned bodies-ISA, LSA, ISS, IPSA, NWISA, InSc (Institute of Scholars), Ethnographic & Folk Culture Society, Yale University Art Gallery, etc. She got State Level Higher Education Teacher Award, Young Social Scientist Award, Research Excellence Award 2021, Bharat -Japan Shitya Samman 2021, O.P. Sharma Award, Best Scholar Award, Nari Shakti Award, Kavya Samman for her academic and creative excellence.
