Bobita Chasha is a testimony to what persistence, determination, and vision can do. Coming from the tea community in Dibrugarh - a place where women hardly set up businesses she has made history and put stereotypes to shame.
A decade ago, Bobita's life was turned upside down when her husband was killed in a fatal accident. Alone to take care of a four year old daughter, she did not allow herself to be overcome by grief but instead transformed her agony into strength.
Resolute to provide a better future for her child, she toiled in a number of private organizations while taking care of a larger dream. The dream took shape when she took the biggest risk of becoming an entrepreneur. With zero financial support, she borrowed money from the bank and established her first outlet - Retreat the Café, that was strategically positioned close to AMCH Medical Gate, Dibrugarh.
The initial period was challenging, with poor footfalls and income that just about covered essential costs. But Bobita would not quit. With dogged determination, long working hours, and unwavering quality, the café finally gained a client base. Encouraged by this, she diversified her venture by opening Retreat the Lodge, offering food and lodging facilities to her expanding business empire.
Today, Bobita's businesses have more than 16 employees, most of whom are from poor backgrounds. Her business not only provides for her immediate family but also empowers many others in her community. She has emerged as a voice of change, using her experience to inspire women from all backgrounds to chase their entrepreneurial aspirations.
In appreciation of her astounding accomplishments and motivating influence, Forever Star India granted Bobita Chasha the Title of Super Woman 2025 in the category of Entrepreneur from Dibrugarh. She continues to remain focused on bringing about further avenues for women and backward classes, being convinced that success must be shared.
