Pooja Nilesh Gaydhani. Calligrapher ‘Pooja Nilesh' as she is known among her friends, is a Commerce graduate with a Diploma in Journalism, Announcing & Broadcasting. Apart from being a gifted calligrapher, she is also a dubbing artist & a photographer. Capturing the beauty of historical places in her frames is what she likes the most. Her love of history is also reflected in the choice of scripts that she has studied. She has great interest in ancient scripts like Devnagari, Roman, Brahmi, Grantha & Sharda. This student of noted International Calligrapher Mr. Achyut Palav dedicates her time in studying manuscripts of 13th century Modi script. She is actively involved in reviving Modi. Her personal ventures in calligraphy include exhibitions of calligraphic artworks in Devnagari and Modi scripts at Balgandharva Kaladalan (Pune), Chatrapati Shahu Maharaj Kaladalan (Kolhapur), Shivaji Chowk, CIDCO Exhibition Centre (Vashi- Navi Mumbai), Nashik Chowpati (Vishwas Lawns), TATA Institute Research Centre (Colaba) etc. She has represented Achyut Palav School of Calligraphy (APSC) in a popular Doordarshan show, 'Sakhi Sahyadri'. She has conducted various calligraphy workshops at Pune, Mumbai, Kolhapur, Goa, Nashik, Surat, Baroda and Malegaon. She Has Awarded with The Title 51 most influential women in the city by brijbhoomi foundation and Suknya Puraskar By Mahavir International foundation for her social work in art Field as well as felicited By Nashik Mahanagar Palika. Currently, she teaches the art of calligraphy to various students in Nashik under the guidance of her mentor Mr. Achyut Palav.
