Born to an officer in the Indian Army, discipline, determination and strong ethical values came naturally to me. Moving to a new place every two or three years gave me the ability to not only adapt easily to new places, but also gave me an exposure to different culture and traditions of various geographical regions. After completing my graduation and a post graduation in business administration, I had a short stint with a reputed bank and then moved to work on the setting up of a nodal NGO at the Pravara Medical Trust.
After a sabbatical of a period of 9 years, my introduction to the field of education came when a friend asked me to substitute for her in a pre primary school. That was the turning point in my life.
My mother was an educationist and once my father retired, he too explored the field of education.
So together, it became a family profession. It's been more than over a decade now and there's been no looking back since then. Teaching is my true calling. The feeling, the adrenaline rush of having taught a concept well and the Eureka moments in the classroom still motivate me to give my best to the students under my care.
Last year, I took on as the Vice Principal of a senior secondary CBSE school. The journey from a pre primary teacher to a vice principal has not been easy. Juggling both my career and personal life, I've had my share of ups and downs. But at the end of the day, it's all been worthwhile.
